A place of beauty

Beauty training at Orkney Street

Beauty training at Orkney Street

Beauty Trainer Angela Wood was one of the first to set-up as a new business in the former cells at OSEC.
After working from home for sometime Angela was keen to get a place of her own. As soon as she stepped into the revamped Orkeny Street police station she felt it had the WOW factor she was looking for.
Angela said ‘It is such a quirky venue and when you think of the history behind it I think it makes it all far more interesting.’
Former beauty therapist Angela now runs her own beauty and holistic training academy, True Beauty, from the old cell block.
She said ‘I think some people get a bit of a shock when they first come in and it certainly has a special appeal.  I hope it will be a stepping stone, but it has allowed me to set-up in my own commercial premises.
Angela is running various training courses for beauty therapists and is also offering limited appointments for beauty treatments to GSWRA staff. You can contact her via the Orkney Street reception.
Other businesses now at home in the cell block include Blether Media, Govan Press, Edit Storage Services, Quick Brick Systems, Global Exchange, and Thisboyishere.
